Panchakarma
Panchakarma Panchakarma is a purifying therapy to enhance the metabolic process through food and herbal medicines. It is used in deep rooted chronic disease as well as seasonal imbalance of tri-Doshas. As the wastes are eliminated from the body the person becomes healthy. So Panchakarma means five types of actions or techniques or treatment. These types of therapeutics are based on elimination therapy.

Purvakarma:

Pre-purification Measures for Panchakarma. Before the actual operation of purification begins, there is a need to prepare the body in prescribed methods to encourage the release of toxins. The two procedures are Abhyanga and Swedana.

Abhyanga

Abhyanga is the process of massaging the body using herbal medicated oil. Abhyangam can be used therapeutically. The massage is designed around each individual, to suit his or her disease or condition. An ayurvedic physician can assess this and will then decide on the appropriate oils and the exact way of massage.Abhyanga involves applying oils infused with herbal preparations on the body or particular parts of the body in a specific style to obtain the desired results.

    Virechan:

    Is a traditional steam therapy designed to open tissues with the saturation of heat and moisture.     Basti:

    It is the introduction of medicated liquids into the colon through the rectum. Basti therapy is the most effective treatment for disorders arising from abdominal vata. This includes Chronic constipation, Lower back or Neck pain (Spondylosis) , Sciatica, Rheumatism, Gout, Arthritis, and dystrophy and atrophy of nerves and muscles.

    Kati basti:

    The process of pouring warm medicated oil for 20 minutes releases stiff, tight and inflamed muscles and the oil penetrates deeply to nourish the ligaments and tendons. A very effective treatment for back pain, stiffness, and other back concerns related to spinal disc problems. The local Marma points are energized, and the warm herbal oil soothes the pain.
